OK, like the idea of seeing how much mail I have. But do I have to close EPrompter, then open up OE ? Kinda seems like extra work.

sethm, welcome to the forum!
I'm not sure if this addresses the point of your post, but to answer your question first: No, you don't have to close eP to access your OE because once eP retrieves your messages, it disconnects from your POP3 server and allows OE to make its own connection.
When you say that it seems like extra work, running ePrompter is actually a valuable time-saving task for many users, since they appreciate the fact that ePrompter can be used as a first-pass filtering of what's in their different email accounts (some users actually have more than 16 different accounts!). Imagine how much time it would take to individually log in to 16 accounts to read and delete the email through their various user interfaces...
However, if you only have one POP3 account that you access through Outlook Express, then ePrompter may be unnecessary. If I were you, I would still run eP because I'd use it to delete spam or virus-laden messages before opening OE, but that's just me.
