Huh? I've been assuming all this time that that you're referring to the "Tell your friends about ePrompter" label. Am I correct?
If so, then no, you don't have to include that in the revised GUI. I can't imagine that the developers would keep it looking like that in a revamped interface. It might possibly be shown as a subtle icon or link.
If that isn't the label you're referring to, then please post back with a clarification.

Ok, well Ill think it over. Im not sure I would waste my time designing a GUI to have a horrid bright blue label stuck in the middle of it. That thing is a nightmare to design around. Thank you for your response, and as a programmer myself I understand the enormous amount of time it takes to delete a control off of a form....

ok, can i get a free version without that blue label on it?
Again, no. There is no version -- paid or free -- that doesn't have the blue label. Wish I had better news, unown....

Also, willing to try my hand at a new interface... everything has to be the same size as the current version, correct?
Yup. Have you responded to Craig's invitation in that message for the graphics guidelines? Send it to the GUI@eprompter.com address and he'll respond ASAP.

Re: Eprompter vs SP2 « Result #9 on Oct 27, 2004, 4:35pm »
dwestcorp,
This has been an issue since some users have installed SP2.
If you have XP's firewall turned off, it might surprise you to learn (as it did me after I recently learned about it) that although XP's firewall appears disabled, it still is running as a service on your system.
If you have it turned off (because, presumably, you are running your own installed firewall), please try the following and then reboot your computer to see if eP now works (I can't verify this myself since I'm running Win98):
1. Go to Control Panel (classic view) 2. Look for Administrative Tools 3. Choose "Services" shortcut 4. Look in the list of services for "Windows Firewall / Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" 5. Right-click on that service and select "Properties" from the drop-down list 6. In the window that appears, look for "Startup type:" and change it from "Automatic" to "Disabled" 7. Click "OK" and then reboot. 8. Run an ePrompter update and see what happens!

CC,
Have you tried using ePrompter's built-in SMTP server? Just leave the line blank where you would normally write the server name. BTW, what is the name of the server right now?

I tried what e-prompter support suggested and that doesn't work either.
Can you share what their suggestion was so that we don't repeat what they've said?
